Every year, approximately 703,000 people die by suicide worldwide. It is one of the leading causes of death, surpassing malaria, HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, and even war and homicide. In 2019, more than one in every 100 deaths (1.3%) resulted from suicide (World Health Organization, Suicide Worldwide in 2019). Every day, individuals who are lonely, desperate, or struggling reach out to Samaritans Thailand for compassionate, nonjudgmental support. Even in the most challenging circumstances, if you can feel even a moment of self-love, please know that my voice and support are with you as you start anew. You can begin to love yourself, even from just 1%. I believe tomorrow will bring you good things. So, I would like to invite all of you to start loving yourselves.
