<h3>1. The importance of self-talk</h3>
Self-talk is the first step in your journey towards overcoming fear and being the best version of yourself. Self-talk is exactly what it sounds like - it&rsquo;s the internal dialogue you have with yourself. A lot of people who use self-talk see it as an opportunity to check in with themselves and try to create a healthy and balanced way of communicating with yourself. Self-talk can be negative or positive depending on your state of mind, and your goal should be to only use positive, encouraging self-talk with yourself. Negative self-talk brings you down and reinforces your conscious and subconscious fears, whereas positive self-talk can help you build your self-esteem and develop a stronger sense of self and purpose.
&ldquo;You have a session where you talk to yourself,&rdquo; Fahsai says. &ldquo;And you know, after talking to myself, there were many times when I realized that because I didn&rsquo;t accomplish my goals, because I failed before &ndash; it made me feel that I was inadequate, it made feel inferior, it made me feel like I didn&rsquo;t believe in myself anymore and it made it hard to see my value and what my strengths were.&rdquo;
Fahsai&rsquo;s realization leads us to step 2, which is talking to those close to you.
<h3>2. Asking other people</h3>
Introspection and an awareness of our own self-talk can lead us to realizing what our strengths and weaknesses are, but it can be difficult to understand how to utilize this knowledge in the best way possible.
While being aware of and working on improving our self-talk is a great first step, it can often bring our own fears and insecurities to the fore. &ldquo;I found out that we are actually our own worst critics&rdquo;, Fahsai notes in her talk &ndash; and this is a key issue. In order to resolve this, the important next step is to ask those close to you for their opinion on you, your work and your past failures. Sometimes, a loved one&rsquo;s perception of us and our past can be so different to our own &ndash; and they can really help us see the truth.
Fahsai turned to her loved ones and asked them some deep, probing questions about herself. As she says, &ldquo;Sometimes with failure, you end up not knowing anymore what you are good at or what your strong points are &ndash; so I found that asking other people helped me to rediscover who I was and what my strengths were.&rdquo;
Fahsai had a major realization after practicing her self-talk, opening up, and taking in her loved ones&rsquo; thoughts and impressions - which leads us to step 3 in her process.
<h3>3. Stop comparing yourself to others</h3>
Fahsai realized that she needed to stop comparing herself to other people. As Theodore Roosevelt once said, &ldquo;comparison is the thief of joy&rdquo;. When you compare yourself to others, you&rsquo;re feeding into your fear and insecurities by looking at other people&rsquo;s achievements, rather than focusing on your own growth.
In her talk, Fahsai shared her issues with comparing herself to other people, especially in the context of the Miss Universe Thailand competition in 2017. She felt that other people might be better than her in some ways, such as having a higher education or a larger fan base. But Fahsai&rsquo;s realization taught her that comparing yourself to other people is pointless.
&ldquo;You have to stop comparing yourself to those people who you think are better than you because in turn, it makes you feel inferior and doubtful of yourself,&rdquo; Fahsai says. &ldquo;There&rsquo;s only one Fahsai Paweensuda Drouin in this world, and there&rsquo;s only one you in this world, so stop comparing yourself to others and stop trying to change yourself to fit into the mold &ndash; because the courage to be your imperfect self is what makes you unique and inspiring.&rdquo;
Everyone&rsquo;s path to self-fulfillment and success is different. There&rsquo;s space for everyone to coexist &ndash; and the fact that your journey might not look the same as another person&rsquo;s doesn&rsquo;t mean that your worth is any less. We all grow, develop and reach our potential in different ways and at different stages in life, and there&rsquo;s nothing wrong with that. Be patient and stay true to your course &ndash; and trust that everything will be okay in the end.
<h3>4. Don&rsquo;t be afraid of failure, but be afraid of regrets</h3>
A key lesson Fahsai offers us is to be afraid of regrets rather than fearing failure. In her talk, she shares one of her favorite quotes: &ldquo;Don&rsquo;t let fear stop you from doing what you love.&rdquo; Taking on a new venture and going after what you want is scary &ndash; but you should be more worried about not even trying due to your fear of failure, than trying and possibly failing. Because if you try, you could succeed &ndash; but not trying at all would be the true failure.
Fahsai gives us some insight into her situation and how she pushed past her fears at a difficult time. &ldquo;In 2017, I was a runner-up in the pageant and I thought that that was it for me because I tried my absolute hardest, I gave it my all &ndash; but I was just in 3rd place. I decided to stop because I&rsquo;d joined so many pageants, and was always just a runner up,&rdquo; she says.
In the Miss Universe Thailand competition there were a total of 873 contestants and only 20 winners from the years 2000-2019. Fahsai is one of those winners &ndash; and the reason for that is that she re-joined the competition in 2019 and won.
&ldquo;Sometimes, you might just be a step or two away from the finish line but if you decide to give up now, then you&rsquo;ll never know,&rdquo; Fahsai says. &ldquo;If I gave up when I was just a runner-up in 2017, then I wouldn&rsquo;t have known how close I was to the finish line. You could be &lsquo;that close&rsquo; to achieving your dreams, to succeeding &ndash; but if you decide to give up now, you&rsquo;ll never know and you&rsquo;ll continue to live with regrets.&rdquo;
<h3>5. Evaluate your experience</h3>
The final step of Fahsai&rsquo;s 5-step plan for overcoming your fear of failure is to evaluate your experience. This is an opportunity for you to really look at the work you&rsquo;ve been doing and doing an honest appraisal of yourself.
For Fahsai, this is a key stage in bettering yourself. &ldquo;I always ask myself, last time &ndash; did I give it my all? If the answer was no, then I would ask myself, what do I think I could have done better? What could I have improved? And what can I do so that next time, I can succeed,&rdquo; she says.
Though taking the time to look back on your failures can be painful and upsetting, it&rsquo;s an important step in improving yourself and preparing for success in the future. When you&rsquo;ve failed once, you&rsquo;ll take big lessons from that experience and you won&rsquo;t make the same mistakes again.
Studies show that people who achieve success usually encounter failure first. A lot of the famous and inspiring men and women in the business world have had big failures in their lives before they achieved success &ndash; it&rsquo;s a natural part of the journey towards self-fulfillment and actualization.
If you&rsquo;re questioning whether you&rsquo;re good enough and whether you&rsquo;re on the right path, Fahsai has sage words of advice for you. &ldquo;I want you to ask yourself &ndash; &lsquo;why did I start in the first place? Is this what I really want to do? Do I still want to continue?&rsquo; If the answer is yes, then I want you to encourage yourself: &lsquo;I believe in my dreams! I can do it! Let's keep going!&rsquo; Change your view of impossible to I&rsquo;m possible and I know that one day, you will succeed,&rdquo; she says.

Bangkok, Thailand: In a <a href="https://citalks.com/talk/3-million-video-views-inspire-fred-fahsai-to-talk-business/">video press release</a> published on June 9, 2021, Fred Mouawad and Fahsai Paweensuda Saetan-Drouin, Co-founders of CI Talks, confirmed that CI Talks, an online social enterprise offering video talks geared to inspire the younger generation, has exceeded 3 million video views since its launch in February 2021.
Fahsai describes the content as &ldquo;videos that showcase different celebrities and experts who share their experiences to inspire our viewers to take action and grow&rdquo;. The short, cinematic videos are scripted to entertain and inspire. Each video delivers three to five actionable takeaways to generate a positive impact among their audience. Fahsai states that the fundamental objective of CI Talks &ldquo;is for the videos to be viewed by as many people as possible&rdquo;. Consequently all videos published are on-demand and free-to-view.
The company achieved over 3 million online video views with seven videos featuring four different celebrities that were released across various channels including their own website, YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Sixty percent of the views came from Thailand and the remainder were worldwide. Ninety percent of the viewers were between eighteen and thirty four years old and this, as Fred Mouawad points out, is the age that adults are most susceptible to learning.
Fred Mouawad, Chairman and Co-founder of CI Talks, said &ldquo;What truly motivates me is seeing the acceptance and the initial impact of our videos whilst, at the same time, knowing that we have so much more potential to grow&rdquo;. Over the coming months, the CI Talks Bangkok Studio will be releasing more weekly video talks in both English and Thai language, featuring coach presenters from a diversity of industries and backgrounds. The intention is to open studios around the world, replicating the model whilst constantly expanding its audience.
Fred commented that &ldquo;Growing an organization is a challenge, but one that I very much enjoy and have experience in&rdquo;. The Co-founders also confirmed that video talks from both Indonesia (Jakarta) and Lebanon (Beirut) are currently in production and due for release soon; &ldquo;These are very carefully crafted initiatives and we are in the process of designing our management systems and building internal capabilities to enable our expansion into many more countries&rdquo;, says Fred.

Fred: We had a total of 3 million views of our videos across different channels, including Facebook Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and our own website CI talks.com. 60% of our audience was in Thailand and the rest was Global. 90% of our viewers are aged 18 to 34 which is our target audience. It's the age adults are most susceptible to learning.
Fahsai: The results are very encouraging, but what motivates me even more is the impact that we're making on our audience. Let's listen to some feedback:

Fahsai: Well, we have many more coaches lined up from our Bangkok Studios and even though our coaches come from different fields, but what they all have in common is being successful at what they're doing. But their Journey wasn't very easy. When our coaches, they share their experiences and their Journeys, their stories, most of the time it includes adversity and hardship. But with determination, perseverance and action, that's what eventually led them to success. Hopefully, by sharing their stories, our audience will continue to be inspired.
Fahsai: Fred, should we also talk about our International expansion which is part of our strategy for increasing our social impact?
Fred: Growing an organization is a challenge, but one that I very much enjoy and have experience in. We want to actually expand CI talks to many corners around the world. You will Be seeing a video from Jakarta, Indonesia and another one from Beirut in Lebanon for the Middle East Market. These are very carefully crafted strategies and what we plan to do is build capabilities and build our Management Systems, so we can expand to many more countries around the world.
Fred: But we also need to build the technology platform that will enable us to scale our videos and also have advertisers. Do you want to tell us a little bit more about our technology?
Fahsai: Definitely. So we're currently building a platform that will enable our viewers to search and view our videos on our mobile app, as well as on any browser. For the first time ever, advertisers will be able to put their ads in our videos, on our website and in our email campaigns. And soon, we'll be talking to companies who are interested in reaching young professionals, who are keen on learning and improving themselves.
Fred: I'm thrilled by the potential of building an ad-supported video-on-demand platform. To cover our expenses and continue creating videos, we need a strong base of advertisers who share in our vision of wanting to make the world better through learning and expanding perspectives. I very much look forward to our next phase of evolution. And to do this, we will need support for multiple stakeholders, from viewers, coaches and corporations.

Fahsai: Yeah, I&rsquo;ve got to admit that every morning when I wake up the first thing that I always do is just to grab my phone and no matter where I go I always have at least two devices with me at all times, so I agree, more and more people are now relying on technology and especially now during the pandemic, our lives have changed drastically, one of them being the education system where the majority of students are now learning online.
Fred: Absolutely Fahsai, I could not agree more. The pandemic has changed many things in life, including the traditional school system and yet technology has enabled us to make so many advancements. But I think the challenge we have is how we consume all that content in a responsible way.
Fahsai: Yeah right, there&rsquo;s a lot of information and content out there that we don&rsquo;t know which one is real, we don&rsquo;t know which ones fake or which ones trustworthy and there&rsquo;s a lot of people who want to learn but in an effective and entertaining way from those that they can look up to and those that they trust. Fred, I know that you care a lot about education and personal growth as you are a mentor yourself.
Fred: I very much care about education. I&rsquo;m a learner by nature and I had the privilege of attending some of the finest business schools in the world, from Harvard, Stanford, INSEAD. I am also a YPO Member which is a leadership organization with a mission of making leaders better through lifelong learning and idea exchange. I&rsquo;ve had many mentors along the way. I&rsquo;ve learned a lot from them but that&rsquo;s also what put me in a position today where I can also contribute to the growth of other people. The opportunity I now see is how to democratize that learning; how can we reach more people, young people, with mind-shifting content that will inspire them to take action and grow.
Fahsai: I agree. I love the idea of inspiring growth through insights. In fact, before CI Talks I opened an academy with a similar concept in mind. I wanted to empower and inspire younger people to become the best version of themselves and my courses helped! Students gave me feedback; they said that they weren&rsquo;t as lost anymore, they were happy that they were able to rediscover their strengths. They updated me with better school results and they thanked me for helping them to believe in themselves again. Their change was amazing but unfortunately my academy is only known to a small group of people so by us joining forces, we can increase our impact as well as bring more celebrities and experts involved as well and we can produce a lot of content on various topics so we can inspire people to grow, take action and realize their dreams.
Fred: I thought you would be an ideal partner for this social enterprise. I could sense your ambition and natural instinct of wanting to make a positive impact on the people around you and I&rsquo;m delighted we are jump starting this venture together.
Fahsai: I&rsquo;m super excited as well especially to see the feedback on each talk, speaking of which &hellip; What did you think about our launch, the first teaser? Did you like it?
Fred: I did, especially when you snapped your finger and the scene changed, like this.
Fred clicks fingers. His clothing changes to business attire. Fred clicks his fingers again and his clothing changes to bicycle wear with his bicycle in foreground. A &ldquo;Woah&rdquo; sound byte in the background. Fred clicks his fingers again and returns to his original &ldquo;smart casual&rdquo; appearance.
Fahsai: Wow! That was perfect and you even had a bike (laughs). So, a lot of people have been asking about what &ldquo;CI&rdquo; or &ldquo;Catalytic Inspiration&rdquo; is. So, catalytic, or catalyst, is something, or in this case, someone, who causes or speeds up a change.
Fred: Absolutely! We want to provide content that ignites &ldquo;Growth&rdquo; and we want that content to be delivered by experts and celebrities. Our goal is to provide them with a platform where they can deliver their message with impact.
Fahsai: And on CI Talks, our experts will be referred to as &ldquo;Coaches&rdquo;. We want their stories, experiences and insights to be heard and to create a positive change in our viewers; a change where they can grow and become a better version of themselves, a version that they wanna be and, in turn, they can use this knowledge to create a positive impact on the lives of those around them as well.
Fred: A very noble cause that will require that we innovate along the way. The challenge is in creating engaging content, one that is grounded in scientific research and includes stories of actual people who have faced challenges. What inspires me the most is the potential the platform has to touch the hearts and minds of young people, to help them become a better version of themselves. The more people we can touch, the more likely we&rsquo;ll play a role in making the world better.
Fahsai: I agree. I believe that with CI Talks we are making the world better one video, or rather one talk, at a time. We have the opportunity to touch the lives of many people, whether it&rsquo;s through cinematic, pre-recorded video talks or later, when we start launching our virtual, interactive workshops.
Fred: We&rsquo;re of course not doing this alone. We&rsquo;re hiring talented individuals to help us achieve our cause and we&rsquo;re also in touch with celebrities from around the world to encourage them to get in touch with us so they can share their wisdom and insights.
