Miss Universe Organization, Mouawad and CI Talks Unite for Social Impact: Launch of Miss Universe 2023 "Voice for Change" Video Contest

New Partnership and Contest Empower Miss Universe 2023 Delegates to Champion Social Causes and Spark Positive Change

Bangkok, Thailand - September 21, 2023 – In a groundbreaking collaboration, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO), the renowned jewelry brand Mouawad, and social impact platform CI Talks proudly announce their new partnership. They will be partnering on the Miss Universe 2023 "Voice for Change" social impact and sustainable development video contest, presented by Mouawad and CI Talks.

The Miss Universe 2023 Voice for Change video contest invites each of the Miss Universe 2023 delegates to submit compelling video stories, 1:30 to 3 minutes long, that address a social issue or cause close to their hearts in their community, country, or beyond. Each of these issues will align with one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The contest is a platform for each delegate to champion a cause and ignite positive change worldwide.

The objectives of the Miss Universe 2023 video contest, presented by Mouawad and CI Talks, are two-fold:

1. Amplify voices to ignite change: Each Miss Universe 2023 Delegate will champion social issues, becoming advocates for positive change, and contributing to a better world.
2. Showcase beauty in all its forms: The contest emphasizes intelligence, integrity, and culture, highlighting that beauty extends beyond physical appearance.

The Miss Universe 2023 Voice for Change video contest officially commenced on September 13, 2023, with a deadline for video submissions of October 20, 2023. An international selection committee, in tandem with online voting by fans and the global audience, will evaluate the video entries and cast their votes for their favorite Miss Universe 2023 Voice for Change videos on citalks.com. Delegates are asked to introduce their chosen social issue or cause, explain the current situation and then suggest solutions that could help to spark positive change.

The evaluation criteria for the videos include:

1. Compelling case for the cause: Clear and evidence-backed explanations of the chosen social issue.
2. Solution quality: Assessment of the viability of solutions or ideas presented.
3. Message delivery quality: The extent to which the presenter engages and appeals to the audience.
4. Memorability and credibility: Impactful messaging that motivates viewers to take action.
5. Creativity and innovation: Innovative message presentation, either in solutions or delivery.

During the Miss Universe 2023 Preliminaries Competition, hosts will announce ten Silver Finalists and three Gold Winners. This will take place in El Salvador in November 2023. 

Each of the three Miss Universe 2023 Voice for Change Gold Winners will receive a $12,000 cash prize from Mouawad and CI Talks, the sponsors and originators of the Voice for Change video contest. These Gold Winners will collaborate with CI Talks in the first quarter of 2024 to create high-impact, targeted video campaigns addressing their chosen social issues or causes.
